Natural slate
Long-lasting and traditional, common on Victorian and Edwardian homes. Usually more expensive to buy and fit.
Man-made slate
Gives a slate look at a lower cost, with a shorter lifespan than good natural slate.
Concrete tiles
Hard-wearing and economical, and common on post-war and modern homes. They are heavier than slate, so the roof structure must be suitable before switching.
Matching your area
In conservation areas or on period homes, the material may need to match the original. We'll advise on what suits your property.
