Roofing advice

What is the best material for a flat roof?

EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and torch-on felt compared for extensions, garages and dormers.

EPDM rubber

A single sheet of synthetic rubber, often laid with few or no joints. Flexible, durable and well suited to many domestic roofs.

GRP fibreglass

Fibreglass laid in place and finished with a hard topcoat. Seamless and tidy, and good where detailing is complex or the roof gets foot traffic.

Torch-on felt

Modern multi-layer felt systems are much tougher than old-style felt and are a common, cost-effective choice.

Which is right for you?

It depends on the roof size and shape, how it's used and your budget. We'll recommend a system after seeing the roof.
